Creating a Digital Storybook Using Keynote

Add a page-turn transitions, forward/backward buttons, audio narration (click to listen)... And you can create a Digital Storybook. Make your project more interactive to the end user.

Things to think about

  • Consider your AUDIENCE. Are they children? Are they teenagers? Are they adults? Are they experts, or novices? Make sure that the vocabulary that you use will be understandable by your audience. You should also consider your audience when selecting images. Different kinds of images and animations appeal to different audiences.
  • Consider the KIND OF BOOK you want to create. Is it a storybook that includes characters with dialog? Is it a journal? Is it a picture book? Is it a history book?
  • STORYBOARD. This just means to plan your story ahead of time. Do your research. While considering your target audience, put everything in your own words. How do you want to lay out your pages? What text will be on the page? What images or animations are you looking for to support the text on the page? If you have dialog, will you work with a buddy to do the different characters' voices?
